So in the McLaren F1, you sit in the middle, we all know this. But my question is this, could people in Britain (and people in the other countries that drive on the wrong side of the road) order their F1 so the shifter was on the left like it would be if they were driving a normal-to-them car? I've only seen it where the shifter is on the right, but I figure because McLaren is a British company they'd consider that when making their car.

I don't know, but probably not. Genius way to only make one variant of a car rather than two, and surprising that other companies didn't copy the idea.

Surprising? Unfortunate. Driver-in-middle is brilliant.

We need more MHD cars!!!!

I keep envisioning a new Corvette or some other American supercar thing as a 3-seat MHD car with awesome aero and 100+hp/L NA motor and shit. Amber rear turn signals, rear fog light, a true world car that they can make only one version of and sell it everywhere! And of course, a million cupholders :)

It would make a great Buick Riviera (boat tail yo)

I draw something like that from time to time, but my drawing absolutely suxxx!

The thing about MHD (assuming 3 seats total) in a Corvette would be odd proportions if FMR, else RMR. I don't like the idea of a RMR Corvette, it's just wrong.

Buick Riviera, however...

Shifter just needs to be put between driver's legs in the middle. Solves the problem whilst creating many more.

Also, disappointing that they didnt carry on the tradition in the P1
